Item: 90  Description: Section of a Hardwood Tree Bearing Three Porcelain Cutters. The section of wood is 22.5 inches long and is only as wide as the insulators. We traced the ownership back to the second previous owner, who stated the item was acquired on eBay. Beyond that we don’t have the back-story. It’s definitely old and we presume the insulators were mounted on the tree in the 1930’s. The insulators are embossed with the July 23 29 patent date as shown in View 2. View 3 shows a rusty lag screw in the wood. The item has been inconspicuously stabilized with wood glue. One of the brackets was broken and has been replaced with an original one just like it. A hook has been added to the back side (top of View 1) for the purpose of hanging the item to display it. The top insulator is  Grade B-Plus with only a couple of tiny flakes. The middle insulator is  Grade B-Plus for some wire wear in the groove and a tiny flake. The bottom one shows a couple of fractures and appears to have been repaired.
