Item: 35 Description: CD 1038 Cutter (030) Bluish Aqua with Some Milky Swirls. Cutter’s were “no tie” insulators often used in trees or forested areas. In View 4 you can see where wires ran through the “eye holes” to affix the insulator to a tree or pole; and then the telephone wire would be dropped into the slot without having to be tied to the insulator. That way, if a limb fell on the line, the wire would slide through the insulator without breaking. Blue Aqua is not a listed color for these. Grade B: Nibbles and small flakes on the sharp outside edges of the base as is typical for these (see View 3). Also has a small flake on the top curve at about the 2:00 o’clock position in View 2. View 5 shows the embossing. Estimate: $350 - $400 Open: $200 Price realized: $360 |
