Item: 99  Description: Caswell's Hawaiian Kona Coffee. This is a two-pound tin and measures 5 inches in diameter and stands nearly 6.5 inches tall. George W. Caswell (1864-1935) was a historical figure who sold coffee and tea to raise money for California's Suffrage Movement. Women won the right to vote in California in 1911, nine years before the 19th Amendment was adopted into the US Constitution. The company obviously stayed in business after Caswell's death. This tin dates from the 1950's or early 1960's. Any later and the address would have included a zip code. This tin had a "key" attached to the base which was used to open the can. The condition is Very Fine to Extremely Fine with only one miniscule area of missing paint. The photos were taken outdoors in bright sunshine resting on a white cloth (thus the irregular appearing base).
