Item: 97 Description: General Telephone Double Side Sign. View 2 is the backside of View 1. General Telephone was created in 1934 and became the largest independently owned phone company in America in the latter half of the 20th Century. In the year 2000, it merged with Bell Atlantic to become the company we know today as Verizon. According to the website, Logopedia, General Telephone used this logo from 1954 to 1959. The sign measures 12-inches wide by 12-inches high. It is painted metal, but not magnetic. Note the extra hole at the bottom. We suspect the sign was remounted at some time during its usage. We photographed the sign outdoors in bright sunshine with a white cloth background. Estimate: $50 - $75 Open: $30 Price realized: $50 |
