Item: 96 Description: CD 288 R.D. Mershon (030) Fizzy Light Aqua. Seems a bit unusual, but there’s quite a bit of fizz in this insulator. This is a very nice example of a Mershon with virtually no damage from usage. There’s a nibble on overpoured glass inside the base that possibly happened when the insulator was removed from the mold. There are some natural annealing lines in the base. Other than that, all I see is a miniscule nick on the base and a pin prick on the ridge above “D”. Grade A-Minus is quite remarkable for these as they typically received rough usage in the mining country of Idaho and Colorado. Estimate: $120 - $150 Open: $75 Closing price: $120 |
