Item: 506  Description: CD 288 Denver –Made Mershon / No Embossing (020) William McLaughlin told interviewer Fred Pagett that when he worked at the Valverde Glass Factory near Denver, CO in the late 1890’s, the company was having difficultly forming the tops for these. They were the weakest point on the insulator. McLaughlin and a co-worker figured out how to do it and thus a line of them was sold. Perhaps McLaughlin himself made this insulator?
