Item: 48 Description: CD 114 California (010) “Whiter Shade of Pale”. In direct sunshine this insulator is off clear or nearly clear. Backlight as photographed in View 1 and View 2, it’s a sage green tint. It reminds me of the 1967 hit by Proco Harum, “Whiter Shade of Pale”. While the band was named for a friend’s pet cat, the words in Latin mean “Far from these things.” And this insulator is far from the typical color for a California. Additionally, it’s quite fizzy as the underlit pictures in View 3 and View 4 show. Also, don’t overlook the solid dome glass. Grade A-Minus: Faint ping on the side of the dome.
