CD 127.1 Brookfield “Straight Side” with Double Embossing Error

Item: 48  Description: CD 127.1 Brookfield (020 – Double Embossing Error) Fizzy Aqua with a couple minor amber streaks. The embossing error is a double error. It’s wrong twice. First, it says “CAUVET’S PAT APL 4, 1870” instead of the correct date for Cauvet’s patent of July 25, 1865. Second, the correct date for William Brookfield’s patent for a mechanical improvement in an insulator press is April 4, 1871 – not 1870. The embossing is on the upper wire ridge and literally goes all the way around the insulator.  Grade B: Area of chatter (small flakes) at the top of base as shown in View 3; and a smaller base flake at the bottom of that picture. Has several light pin pricks on the skirt and dome. This insulator has never been thoroughly cleaned and will be much prettier with some TLC.
