Item: 429  Description: U-1792 1875 Dated Gorodok Porcelain (Russia). Insulators with the production date inside a circle are attributed to a Russian factory owned by Siemens & Halske. Gorodok was located in St. Petersburg. A wire went through the holes in the ears to help keep the conductor in the cable groove. The ink stamp on this one is darker than often seen.  Grade B-Plus: Tiny flake at the top of one eyehole as visible in View 2. This is a medium sized insulator measuring 4 5/8ths inches tall.
