Item: 413 Description: U-1942C Kloster-Veilsdorf (Germany) Dry Spot Insulator. That company made this style. If this one is marked, it is very weak. View 1 shows the dry spot with the composite cap screwed in place. View 2 has the cap removed and shows a hole & groove where a wire could come out the side of the insulator under the cap. View 3 looks into the insulator and shows a hole going down into the pinhole area. Dry Spots were used with telephone connections allowing the line wire and the drop wire to connect in a dry environment. The insulator is Grade A . The thin cap is starting to split.
