Item: 396 Description: Bottle: Ink bottle embossed “S.M. CO.” on the base. See View 3. The initials stand for: Sanford Manufacturing Company. That’s what the business was called before it became the Sanford Ink Company. Light amber influences give the color an ice yellow green appearance when photographed in a backlit display case as shown. In natural light, the color is more lemon-like. The lip is hand tooled and the bottle dates from the 1895 – 1905 era. Grade B-Plus: Nick on lip; light staining. Estimate: $15 - $20 Open: $10 |
