Item: 384 Description: CD 572.3 No Embossing (Russia) Sage Green. I’ve nicknamed this one “BORIS, CZAR OF CRUDITY”. You’ll go a long way before finding an insulator more crudely formed than this one. The surface texture is rough. The “Niemen notches” on the sides of the ears look more like they were gouged out rather than molded in. See View 2. The outer skirt is thick and heavy. The inner skirt is out-of-round. Squiggly lines of the surface are reddish in color and seem to be connected to the making of the insulator rather than rust. Grade B-Plus: Open bubble at the base of one seam line; a couple shallow annealing lines; a couple of light wear spots at the edge of the crown. Estimate: $100 - $120 Open: $55 Current bid: $70 |
