Item: 365 Description: CD 160 H.G. CO. (100) Turquoise Blue. This “baby” is special in so many ways. Let’s start with the embossing. In View 3, look at the word “PATENT”. There is something seriously wrong with the letter “P”. View 4 confirms what the Price Guide says for the (100) EIN. That is, the “P” is embossed over the letter “M”. In View 5, note that ‘PETTICOAT” is spelled ‘PEITTICOAT”… that’s “P-E-I” not “P-E-T”. What it the engraver’s first day on the job? Or maybe it was Monday morning after a rather wild weekend? Someone’s inexcusable work makes for some fun collecting. Next, consider the color. View 6 shows a light blue baby on the left with a bluish aqua example on the right. Perhaps the difference is subtle, but I see this one as notable. So I called it “turquoise” just to point out that the color is distinctive. The Price Guide lists “Light Jade Aqua Milk” as a color for this (EIN) and values that color at $250 - $300. I am not calling it bluish jade, but the color is special. Finally, consider the condition. View 7 shows the base. I counted 55 teeny drip points. Three have open bubbles at their tips and two are partially flaked. There’s some minor wire ridge wear. Grade A-Minus . Don’t miss this opportunity to adopt this special baby. Estimate: $200 - $250 Open: $95
Closing price: $120
