Item: 328  Description: Scratch & Dent: CD 127.1 W.U. (010) Blue Aqua. Embossed on the crown: L.A.C.s PAT JULY 25TH 1865. On the skirt: W.U. PATTERN. History: L.A.C. stands for Louis A. Cauvet, the man who patented internal threads of insulators. This very early threaded insulator was made at the Beaver Falls, PA glass factory. It is believed the CD 127.1 was designed at Beaver Falls and then morphed into the CD 127 style when Brookfield started mass-producing them. As View 1 shows, the insulator can be positioned to look good. View 2 shows why it is a “Scratch & Dent” item.  Grade: Specimen .
