Item: 315 Description: U-3074 “SILENT” Type. Says so, right on the dome. See View 2. The word ‘SILENT” refers to the insulator being treated to reduce electrical interference with radio reception in automobiles. In the US, we say the insulator has received “radio treatment”. The treatment is the dark coating in the cable area of the insulator. This unipart is 4-and-7/8ths inches wide at the upper umbrella, and stand 5-and-7/8ths inches tall. It was made by New Zealand Insulators. Grade A-Minus for some minor wear. Estimate: $50 - $75 Open: $25 Price realized: $40 |
