Item: 310 Description: U-1540 & U-1573 Old “Salt Glaze” Insulators Marked G.P.O. on the Dome. England’s General Post Office took over the country’s telegraph system in 1870. These otherwise unmarked insulators likely date from the 1880’s or 1890’s. Left: U-1540 in Grade A-Minus for minor wear in wire groove. Right: U-1573 in Grade A-Minus for a few spots of light wear.
