Item: 252 Description: CD 145 Brookfield 4c (100) Light Blue. This 1870-dated Brookfield is identified in Lee Brewer’s book on CREBs as 4c. As Lee points out, it differs from the (100) EIN in that the “T” in “ST” is not superscript nor underscored; there is no period after JAN, and the “TH” in “25th” is not Underscored. The “Y” in “N. Y.” is positioned higher than the “N”. And the “A” and “N” I “JAN” stick up higher off the surface of the glass. The Shop Number “4” matches Lee’s illustration of a 4c.
