Item: 245 Description: WHAT-IZ-IT? This funnel shaped object in light amethyst glass measures 7-inches across at the top by 2-inches at the threaded “base”. It is embossed: CHAMBERS / PATENTED NOVEMBER 16, 1897. Excess glass at the threaded lip was ground down at the factory. Bob Stahr found the patent information. Charles Gilmore Chambers of Brownsville, TN received a patent on this as an improved funnel & strainer "whereby the device may be used without fear of corrosion and will prove clean and pure for all purposes". It's patent number 593,834. View 2 is just another view of the object. Grade A apart from nibbling due to the factory grinding.
