Item: 242 Description: U-47 (U-S) and Two U-1192’s (Canada). These three “snowmen” look similar; but were each sold by a different company. Left in View 1: This U-1192 is recessed embossed on the base: Stromberg Carlson / Made in Canada. See View 2. That company was formed in 1894 to manufacture telephone equipment which was sold in both the US and Canada. The insulator was likely made by Hamilton Porcelain. Middle: This U-1192 insulator is embossed CTS on the dome. See View 3. It is also recessed embossed on the base HP / Made in Canada. HP stands for the marker, Hamilton Porcelain. Right: U-47 marked on dome PP INC (View 3). Porcelain Products, Inc. was formed in 1927 by the merger of several US porcelain companies. The Stromberg is Grade A ; the Hamilton is Grade A-Minus for natural shrinkage lines in the glaze; and the PP is Grade B-Plus for some wire ridge nibbles. Your one bid is for all three.
