Item: 20  Description: CD 637.9 No Embossing (Uzbekistan) Emerald Green. This is a large and heavy insulator from a rather obscure country. The insulator measures 5.75 inches across at the base and stands 8.5 inches tall. It weighs just over 7 pounds. Uzbekistan is a landlocked county in Central Asia through which the historic trade route between the Mediterranean and China (The Silk Road) crossed. The country is one of the world’s leading cotton producers and has substantial oil and gas reserves. Production of electricity comes from hydro projects on several rivers in addition to nuclear, coal and petroleum generation. This insulator doesn’t appear to have ever been used. The edges are very sharp, in particular at it’s “pincher top”. The insulator has several short annealing lines in its umbrellas; and minor nibbles on some of the sharp edges (possibly from when it was removed from the mold).  Grade B-Plus .
