Item: 193  Description: CD 734 McMicking (010) Light Aqua. Here’s an affordable example of this classic threadless insulator. First, some history. Robert McMicking was superintendent of Western Union in British Columbia in the 1870’s when he patented this small insulator. Most examples were dug at a place called Wire Cache, where telegraph supplies were stored in preparation for construction of a line. But the project was postponed, then the route changed, and the materials were left behind. This one was definitely buried and has numerous pings, flakes, small base chips and base bruises.  Grade C .
