Item: 178 Description: CD 143 Canadian Pacific (040) Busy, Busy, Busy Beehive. How did this aqua beehive ever find time to do its job and insulate? It seems to have spent its whole life developing its character. 1) The name, and particularly the letters “FIC RY CO”, are ghost embossed. 2) The final “O” is missing and only its ghost embossed version shows; and that at about a 30-degree angle to vertical. 3) Has a milky swirl in the front dome. 4) Has a massive graphite & fizzy patch capping the entire dome. 5) Has numerous bubbles in the skirt. 6) One of those bubbles is an inch-and-a-half long and stretches into the wire groove. 7) Has an under poured base in some areas. 8) Has an over poured base in some areas. 9) Leans slightly due to the over pour. 10) Has a small lehr kiss mark on the dome. 10) Has a great swirl start to the threads looking like some kind of whirlpool. This is a very cool & fun insulator. Grade A-Minus: Insignificant nibbles on the sharp inside edge of the base as is typical of MLOB’s. Estimate: $75 - $100 Open: $45 Closing price: $240 |
