Item: 173 Description: Tin: Phenix Dispensing Tank / Whitall Tatum Company. Decorated with geometric patterns, this tin was made by, or at least distributed by, the Whitall Tatum Company. See View 2. In this case, the tin has a specific use as shown in View 3. Painted using a stencil is the word GLYCERIN. Glycerin was used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, soaps, paint and varnish. This container is 10-inches by 6.5 inches by 13 inches tall at the lid. View 4 shows what it looks like inside the lid. It is fairly light at 3.3 pounds (empty).
