Item: 147 Description: 1920's Intercom. This is a Graybar Inter Phone, an early intercom system used in factories. It was used as a telephone that would ring from work station to work station instead of being announced over a public address system. View 1: The Inter Phone is photographed in bright sunshine on a white cloth background. It is affixed to a white painted mounting board. The board measures 5.5 inches wide by 10 inches tall. If removed from the board, the Inter Phone itself measures roughly 5 by 8 inches (excluding the width of the earpiece). View 2 shows the internal parts of the Inter Phone. The metal backplate is stamped with 1920 & 1921 patent dates. The paper schematic is dated 5-26-27. The wall in the factory was painted at least twice with both green and yellow splash over paint inside the box. We make no guarantee on whether the device works. We saw the exact same Inter Phones on eBay at prices ranging from $68 to $199. Estimate: $50 - $75 Open: $40 Price realized: $45 |
