U-1364A Very Early British Insulator Marked “Johnson”

Item: 103  Description: U-1364A Johnson (United Kingdom). W.C. Johnson and S.E. Phillips were partners in a London company that provided telegraph supplies. The company was founded in 1875 and operated at least to 1885. This early style insulator has a separate "inner cup" that is cemented into the "outer cup". See Item 52 for more information about these. This example has a portion of the original pin cemented into place. It is  Grade C-Minus for a base chip; a thin flake shown in View 1. A fracture and a couple of small flakes are visible in View 2.
